Fact- Skin can only heal if it is kept clean and has oxygen.
Fact-
Your body is what heals a tattoo not an ointment- ointments only try to help and keep it moist.
Fact- If you clog the pours with ointment directly after getting a tattoo, not only may you breakout
and irritate the skin, but it causes more (oozing, leakage, plasma, weeping) of the skin. I usually dry heal my tattoos the first
two days and just make sure they are clean. I apply a cold compress or wet rag to relieve some swelling and redness is any.
I have sensitive skin and base what i tell people it is best to KEEP IT SIMPLE,MILD,CLEAN.DO NOT expose it to sun or swimming
or any kind for at least aten days. DO NOT put ointments on it for more then three or four days (LOTION IS NOT WHAT I'M
REFERRING TO ) READ the back of tubes they often say do not use longer then 7 to 10 days unless recommended by a Physician.
DO NOT scratch, pick, rub, molest,or pinch your tattoo. How can it heal if your messing with it? Not to mention your hands are
dirty bacteria harbors. Mostly use logic.
Day1 Wash your tattoo after taking bandage off about an hour after leaving the shop. If your going
out leave it on til you get home. Public rest rooms aren't the cleanest places. Use a liquid or mild soap.
Day2 Wash your tattoo
after you have washed your hands of course DO this about twice to three times a day.
Day3 REPEAT DAY2
Day3 Wash tattoo air dry or pat it dry and apply an
ointment or salve such as bacitracin, tattoo goo,A+D. USE OINTMENT THINLY! RUB IN COMPLETELY IF YOU CAN SEE IT AND IT RUBS
OFF ON YOUR CLOTHES ITS TOO MUCH. Note if you have oily skin normally apply less often. Other ointments not on this list tend
to be a little to strong or have no healing qualities to help with a tattoo. Accepting ink is what you need your skin to do.
You only need to do this twice or three times a day. The tattoo must be clean first, removing dead skin cells by washing helps
it heal.
Day4
REPEAT DAY3
Day5
Til 3 to 4 weeks time, wash once or twice a day, apply only lotion. A white lotion made for extremely dry skin or 24 hour moisture
are the best. Some dry out sooner then others, use your discretion . So everyday 2 to 3 times a day for almost a month.
Thats when a tattoo is considered healed. But that skin is baby fresh new and needs sunblock. SPF 50 or higher, with zinc.
The sun can bleach any ink on any surface. Tattoos are art treat them with respect and your body.
Sunblock does shield you from the sun. It protects you from harmful uva uvb rays. You should always
apply sunblock a half hour before exposure, every two hours. There is no such thing as waterproof sunblock so re-apply. You
should use sunblock on any raised birthmarks, moles, and scars. This can save you grief in your later years.
